Ariel and Sister Wart

It was sad to read recently about the death of Bill Putt who with Mike Rudd were the stalwarts of  “Ariel” a Melbourne progressive rock band.  Around 1974 I photographed them in my studio before a soon to be released album. At this session with the usual banter that goes on when shooting it was decided that a leader for the fan club would be a good idea. I can’t remember how the name “Sister Wart” come about, mixed with the band photos below are some from a session with Sister Wart. The first Sister Wart photo that comes up is the one that was used.

All pictures shot on a Mamiya RB67 camera on Kodak Plus X film and the negatives rephotographed on a Nikon D800E  instead of scanning them.
