Dean Jones

Dean Jones 1961-2020. It was sad to hear of Dean’s passing. Dean was a cricket personality, when photographing him in action you tended to use more film than you intended too. Things happened when he was batting and you didn’t want to miss anything. If it wasn’t his batting, his facial expressions gave you plenty of pictures. There are a number of sporting personalities that have this gift, that is why at a major tennis tournament an obscure player on a court furthest away from centre court has about 20¬†photographers there. There are people like this in most sports and they make great pictures. Below are some pictures that illustrate this. These pictures were taken at the MCG and it needs a long telephoto lens to get into the action. Most of these pictures were taken around ¬†1986.
